I have had no personal experience but have heard it said that it is not at all straightforward to marry in Menorca, and that it is better to have the legal ceremony in the UK then a blessing on the island.  Good Luck I hope it works out well whatever you do.

We got married in Menorca (Ajuntamiento Es Mercadal) by the Alcalde ....it was quite long winded and expensive ..had to have all our documents (both married before), death certs of late spouses, birth certs, etc etc translated into Spanish by an official translator (Hon British Consul advised)  We had to have an interview at the Consultate in Menorca and had to have all our UK official documents sent to the Foreign office in London to be stamped with an attestation de la Hague to prove who we were and that we were entitled to marry )I suppose in case of fraudulent marriages !)...and then all this had to go to the Alcalde for approval, and eventually we were given a date we could marry which had to be 3 months hence ......the ceremony was at 18.30 in the town hall ....................and we were given a Libra de Famillia which is a book everyone who marries in Spain (same here in France) is given ...it is the equivalent of a UK marriage licence ....and has ten spaces to list your eventual children (since we married when I was 55 and my husband 68 there wasn't much need for that !_)....we actually said it would have been cheaper and quicker to nip to Las Vegas and get Elvis Presley to marry us !!!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck
