Today Sunday the FCO are advising against all but essential travel to Spain, balearics and Canaries. Whilst this may be the right advice I can't imagine the economic chaos this will wreak on Menorca. I have had a home in Addaia for 34 years. Many of the local business owners are friends. Let's hope this restriction will be lifted as soon as is safe. Ian Hamilton

Oh dear ...feel so sorry for Addaya ...used to live there in Avenguida Lord Stewart …...loved living on Menorca until my husband at 15 years older than me found it too hot so we moved to France ...sadly he died last year and I had a house in the UK so sold the rural French house and moved back ....keep looking at buying a flat back on the island, but with the uncertainty about living in Europe and my age (73 this year)  I am waiting !  I do hope the island manages to survive with the loss of tourism this year ...I can't even visit if I am self isolated for four months (dreadful prospect !)  but even that would be better living on the island …...and our once friends lived on the corner in a huge villa they built and also lived in Ireland ….I don't know how even visiting a holiday villa will be possible ...good luck everyone !

We have to look after everyone's health, we'll be out as soon as we're allowed to travel to sopport the local economy. Stay safe and well, at least you have better weather than the UK.
