I’m looking to buy a used car.

The Mahon industrial estate is the best place to start. All the big marques have dealers there with used cars 🚗 and there are several independent second hand dealers. There is also a network of people who, for a price, will garage your car, MOT it and deliver to/collect from the airport.

Please tell me - where are these marques you mention?  We have been all over the Mahon (and Sant Louis) industrial estates many, many times but have NEVER seen anything resembling a used car dealership.

We are looking for a cheap run around to avoid expensive car hire but my internet searches have not proved productive!

Citroën has a big dealership on the Mahon poligno, near Mercadona, whilst Ford is on the main airport road. Open have a presence in Alaior.

Hi! I would recommend buying in Barcelona and bringing it over on the ferry. You’ll have a much better selection and much better prices. The summer fast ferry is only 4 hours and the winter slow ferry is an overnight 8-9 hours.

Various car rentals will be sold of at the end of the season by garages such as Autos Victoria’s 

https://autosvictoria.com/ and autos amigos on the polygono in Mahon.  They will then service, store it and bring it to the airport if required.  Have bought two such cars in the past and both of these garages are English owners.
