Hey guys, I'm passing through Menorca on April 30th. I thought it would be nice to use the time to explore the island with a local/s. If anyone’s free on that day, I’m offering a breakfast/lunch/coffee invitation in exchange for a little tour :)

Hi, Hola!  Are you arriving by air or sea?. as the latter may then mean you are docking in Ciutadella....and what sort of time do you arrive, and how long are you actually going to be with us here on Menorca? I Live here and I am in Port Mahon, and may ( in principle) be ale to help...

Hi! I’m arriving by air. I won’t be in Menorca very long. I just have a very long layover and wanted to use the time to see the island (or some part of it). I fly in on Saturday 29th at 23:00 and fly out the next day at 17:30.

Hahaha no mining helmets are certainly not necessary. What I had in mind was a morning trip, lunch and then straight back to the airport. Family members are definitely invited too! I’d love to befriend some locals and since it’s a Sunday, I don’t want to take anyone away from their spouse/kids.

...ids.

If all else failed..I could recommend you get down to the Port (Mahon) and take a Harbour Boat trip, around an Hour and very informative about the History of the Port, the Harbour ( I live here) is enormous with three islands within it. Where are you going to be staying?.

Thank you for the suggestion! I’m search for an AirBnB in Mahón. I think I won’t be far from the harbor.

Unfortunately,  ?Clair?.. ( I am Alan) I can not personally offer you accommodation, let me see what I can find and will send you anything. May I ask where you are flying onto?.. There is a very very economic little Hotel but it is up in Fornells, which is also a lovely little village, but I think with the time constraints, the Port and surrounding areas, Es Castell etc.  is going to be much better for you. Look on Booking.com also.. put in "Horizonte", it is between the Port and es Castell, ( used to be Villa Carlos) there used to always be a very economic little Hotel there, clean and very acceptable...it is only one night after all..

Thank you Alan (yes, it’s Clair), your suggestions are very helpful. I’ll definitely look into these hotels. To answer your question, I’ll be returning from a business trip, from Barcelona to Venice.

You are most welcome Clair. I have found this, the Apartamentos Royal Life, Mahón – Updated 2023 Prices (booking.com) this is a budget but very clean establishment, and literally about 200 mtrs up above and behind my flat here in the Port.  it would be a very convenient lay-up point for you, as, on foot, you could in minutes be in the Port, or, up in the town... Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
