We were not happy to find out when we were on the beach that the sun loungers and umbrellas had been removed .
We were told by caffe staff that they were returning soon as we are returning in September for 10 days dose anyone know if this is true ?

The sunloungers and beach umbrellas are removed at the end of the tourist season every year and usually return at the start of the season each year. I may be wrong but understand that there have been delays in issuing the franchises for these and the pedaloes this year. During 2020 they were not on the beach at all and personally found it so nice to see the beach how it used to look in years gone by. The beach is very busy now especially at weekends and it is hard to imagine how little space there will be if the sun beds are indeed installed as they take up so much of the beach.
I’ve just returned from Menorca and visited a few beaches and none had sun beds or umbrellas, we had to leave as too hot without. We were informed it was because new licenses had not been given out yet.
This needs resolving asap.

Totally agree even in June it was 30 degrees the shops were selling out of umbrellas.

The beaches need to be user friendly and safe.
Thus sun beds and umbrellas are a must.
And as our hotel owner said we have to look after the tourist as they are the people who bring the revenue in.
I’d be more concerned what they are building in the centre of Fornells and definitely taking away its traditional feeling.

Any update on the beach loungers ?
Will be over in a couple of weeks. Last visit the umbrellas were solid wooden poles with palm tree type top. Is this still the case ?

Sun beds and umbrellas on beach at Porter. Great beach. We stayed 3 nights from 17 July 22
