N I E in Menorca

Hi Bob, just seen this, we got our N.I.E via a Spanish organisation with offices in London GB Avogados, they also supported us to open a bank account for us in Menorca, as we were in UK at the time and it worked out cheaper to do it this way than to pay to come to Menorca and pay for accommodation here, as that was when we were in the process of buying our flat here.   Apparently you have to get your N.I.E card from the local governments offices in Palma Mallorca,  not possible to do in Menorca, so we were told anyway last year, that is worth checking out though, as may have changed.   You could just call your local adjuntemene and ask them, or a local Notary office, they'll be able to tell you

We now have appointments at the Spanish Consulate in London to get NIEs. 

We're planning to go back to Menorca in September to holiday and look at some properties. We'll open a Bank account while we're there.
