Hi All

Myself, wife and 2 daughters are looking to move to the island and rent accommodation before September 2020. We have already confirmed that there are spaces for our young daughters education in a school, however we want to secure employment before we came over. My wife is a English teacher with experience of working with special needs and I am currently a housing officer. I understand that my current role will probably be in less demand. So therefore I would be looking for anything that would ensure we could move over with a plan.

Our current plan is that my wife and two daughters would move over and I keep my job in the UK to support us. I will work 3 days a week in the UK and travel back each week. Obviously this will be a strain on the family but will do in the meantime to achieve our dream. I have basic conversational skills in the spanish language also still currently learning and making good progress.

If anyone has any suggestions or advice we would much appreciate it.

Thanks for reading

I think jobs at the moment are thin on the ground re COVID. Places are only just beginning to open with less staff etc. Teaching would require speaking fluent Catalan and Spanish but very difficult to get into teaching. I wish you luck.

Perhaps build up an online portfolio of students? Then it wouldn’t matter where in the world they are? There are franchises available with Tutor organisations. Good luck we are hoping to do the same next year
