Finding a very dear Spanish friend.
This MAY be a long shot. But I’m getting older now. My parents bought a property on the golf course in 1985 at Son Parc.(I was 15 at the time and now nearly 53)
I was always taken out of school times on holiday there and felt lonely as I was on my own, with no other English kids, and it was very basic resort and unspoilt yet beautiful when I reflect.
I’d walk down to the beach on my own, each day as it was very safe and sit watching the very few tourists taking out pedalos, windsurfs etc, run by a Spaniard called Tony. He lived on the mainland, and spent his summers hiring the pedalos and windsurfs.
I would sit on the beach near to him, and he would notice I was on my own. He felt sorry for me knowing I wanted to take a windsurf out, yet I couldn’t afford it. We got talking one day, and I know from memory he was seeing a British girl from Southampton. He was around 30 and would now be around 68 now.
He said to me one day, if you get my coffees from the beach bar whist he was busy ( He always drank a small black coffee) with tourists, and helped him drag the pedalos up the beach at the end of the day. I could have a windsurf for 1/2 - hour for free each time I saw him.
He became like a big brother to me, and my parents got to know him well.
He must of been regulated by having this business, ( Not sure if it was his own) but he was very courteous to people, very friendly and professional as I recall. ( So being possibly regulated may help to find him)
It would be unbelievable to find him. You can’t imagine how I’d feel.
I know there is not a lot to go on. But remember his age, the year I met him, and he lived in mainland spain after the summer period.
If there is anyone out there that may be able to help me, I would be so trully greatful.
Gracias. x 🙏🙏🙏
