I am resident in the UK with a second home in Salgar Menorca.  Subject to Covid restrictions, I am planning to travel to Menorca by road and ferry later in the summer.  Part of the reason for doing this is to bring a few bulky household items with me.  Since the last time I did a similar trip, Brexit has happened and so I am aware that there are customs formalities.  It is, though, difficult to get precise information about the paperwork I will need in order to clear French customs at the tunnel.  It seems to be particularly difficult when I am both the exporter and the importer, but in my importer role I am not based in the EU.  Anyone know:

- what document(s) I need and where I get it/them

- to whom and when do I pay the various taxes involved, how do I contact them in the first place and how do I prove that I have paid when i arrive at French customs

- are there any further complications arising from the fact that destination country (Spain) is not the same as the one on in which I will enter the EU (France)?

- are there issues of standards compliance now - any goods that cannot be imported because they don't meet EU standards (thinking in particular of things that use gas/electricity)

- suppose I just rock up at Folkestone with a car full of stuff and no advance docs, but with evidence of value, would it be a simple matter of paying French customs on the spot with minimal fuss and then off on my way?

- is it really not worth trying to do DIY importing and would I be better ordering stuff in Spain (just seems a shame not to use the space in the car, that's all).

Hi, my family are thinking of moving my family from UK to Menorca. Can anyone please advise if Menorca is lively enough for my 18 year old daughter. Would there be enough for her to do and what opportunities would there be. What is the demographic of Menorca? Thanks Mike

my wife and I would like to rent a property either autumn  or spring time just to get away from our cold climate. We would like about 3 to 4 weeks. fairly close to bars and shops.

Hi, all. Myself my wife and 17 year old daughter want to relocate to Spain. We were thinking mainland initially but love the look of Menorca, but never been there. I understand the issues around residency, is it any easier or harder in Menorca. Also what prospects are there for a 17 year old. If possible we want to buy something out there for around 100k that we can live in and gain residency. What areas would you suggest as we want to eventually rent it out and buy a other home.

We have owned a property in salgar for 24 years, which we use as a holiday home. We usually spend 5 to 6 months a year here but obviously with Brexit that will not be possible. We would like some advice on which documents we need to complete that will allow us to remain U.K. citizens and pay our taxes there but be able to spend more than 3 months in Menorca after December 2020, please 

My wife is blind and we are attending a wedding early October. Looking for something near the hotel if poss.?

I am due to get married in S’algar in May, so far I have had no luck with finding someone to do my hair and make up for the big day. Please can someone help???
