Hi Bob, thanks for the detailed explanations.  I assume that the houses are cooled and heated with air conditioning, right?  I am asking so much because I am considering moving to Menorca.  I am living in Andalusia, in the Huelva region in the countryside, 25 kilometer from the sea, for 6.5 years.  It's too hot and dry here for me and too cold and damp in winter.  It hardly rains anymore and everything needs a lot of water.  I'm self-sufficient.  The heat makes it almost impossible.  I'm looking for a place where the temperatures are more balanced.  Where there is more variety and still a lot of nature, parks and serenity.  Would you say I can find that in Menorca? Saludos Carina

Carina, I think you would find Menorca much more comfortable . However it is not brash and noisy like Ibiza and Majorca. Not all houses have Airconditioning , but it is easily added. Its very quiet during the off season when many of the restaurants close . Im not a permanent resident but even at Christmas its usually quite pleasant. Houses are considered quite expensive here but theres a lot of buying choice .  The south avoids a lot of the winds which can be quite strong at times. Best thing to do is come take a look for a week or so.  A good house agent is Bonin Sanso.

Hi Bob, thanks a lot. I know the wintertime is wet and inside the house it is wet too. What does the people against the wetness, when they don't have a air  condicioner? You are right to say I have to come for less a week. But I don't want to live in a comfortable hotel, normaly yes, but to experience the real life, I have to live in a normal house. ( Hope you understand the text, I have written it without Google Translate) Best regards Carina

Hello, I suggest you contact an estate agent such as Bonin Sanso, tell them what kind of property you want, preferred location, available budget , and ask them to send  you details of what’s on the market. Concerning humidity in winter. If you locate close to the sea, you might get some humidity in winter.in this case you get a dehumidifier. Can cost 100 Euro . Rgds
