In case any of you couldn´t make it to the exhibition in Ciutadella, not to worry, it is an all island exhibition and the next stop is Es Mercadal at the Sala "Ca n´Angel". It starts on the 13th April and ends on the 25th April.

The timetable is:

Thursdays and Fridays 17:00 to 20:30

Saturdays and Sundays 10:30 to 13:30 and 17:00 to 20:30

Hello,

I'm hoping that someone in or near Es Mercadal may have a suggestion for me.  I am hoping to come to Menorca in 2022 to walk the Cami de Cavalls with a friend.  We would like to stay in Es Mercadal and will hire a car from the airport etc..  I have been to the island many times in the past but sadly not since 2007!  We would like to maybe find/hire a driver who could take us each morning to our starting point for the day and then collect us from wherever we have walked to by late afternoon/early evening to bring us back to Es Mercadal.  We chose a central point to stay for this purpose.  Alternatively, I am trying to work out whether the bus network would facilitate this -  we don't mind travelling to Mao or Ciutadella to change each journey.  The timetables are a bit confusing and seem to have gap from Sept to Nov when I can't work out whether it's a normal or restricted service.  I have looked at the guided and organised options but they are quite restrictive and/or miss some parts of the route, or are too quick or too slow - I know, I'm fussy lol.

I thought maybe as local residents the expat community may have useful knowledge they could share with me.  We want to give ourselves as much flexibility as we can and intend to use our car to make the very most of our time there when we aren't walking.

Hi !  Having lived in Menorca and now back in the UK I am looking perhaps to buy a small apartment for myself for holidays (not to let out)...but am concerned about security and maintenance whilst I am away ….anyone have any ideas about who they employ to look after the security etc and roughly how much it costs, plus the annual charges for buildings insurance, maintenance of the block, etc ?  long shot but a rough idea would be helpful …….Bonin Sanso can offer such things but I dare say they would be at a greater cost ?  obviously concerned also that after the finalisation of Brexit I would have no access to the EHIC ...but would I still be able to use my Spanish driving licence or change it, as in France soon, for an International Driving licence ???  thanks

I am thinking of retiring to Fornells/Playas de Fornells. I know it well and already know how quiet it is in Winter. This is one of the reasons I love it. Are there any Expats living in this area?

There was a banner headline that showed up when I typed Retirement housing in Menorca into the search engine, and this site came up ...but I cannot find anything about it ?

Used to live in Addaya now live in France, and at our advanced age are looking to make a final move ...maybe back to Menorca ....looking at Mercadal town as it is flat (now 71 and 85 !)  or Ciutadella ........love Alayor but too many steep streets !
