Looking for a holiday house swap - 0 replies

Vwin9753 Posted by Vwin9753 in General property discussion in Cala'n Bosch on Tue Dec 31, 2019 5:38am

I have a 6 bed farm house (B.B) in the heart of the Peak District in England , beautiful listed property set in the remote countryside with the beautiful market town of Bakewell 3 miles away .

I was wondering if anyone fancied doing a holiday swap during the 6 weeks or open to any other times too .

Don’t worry we are not looking for a like for like . There is only two adults and two children . So a small property is fine . Open to town / or countryside . As we will have a car and spend very little time indoors anyway .

If anyone thinks this is an option that might suit them and there family for a holiday then please send me your ideas or suggestions

Thanks vicky

Transport to get around the island for two months - 0 replies

Sam Posted by Sam in Driving, hiring, buying and owning a car in Arenal d'en Castell on Tue Dec 17, 2019 12:23am

Hi I'm going on an internship on Menorca in Mahon. I would live in Arenal d'en Castel and I don't know how to get to Mahon and back every day without taking the bus. Is it easy to just buy a cheap old banger of a car and drive that around for the time being? But where would I find such a car or motorcycle perhaps? Is there another website, that I could check out, where I could buy second hand stuff? Thanks for helping out. ;)

UK Income - 1 replies

AdeleGee Posted by AdeleGee in Taxes in Cala en Porter: Suma, NIE and general tax advice on Wed Nov 6, 2019 2:03am

I will be purchasing a property and hopefully taking up residency however , I will still be receiving my sole income from my job in the UK (working remotely in Menorca).

Will I have to pay UK and Spanish tax, just UK or just Spanish and will my family and I qualify for healthcare or will we need to pay privately?

Any advice anyone can offer would be appreciated as I have trawled the internet and it's not very clear where I'd stand and which taxes I would be liable for on my UK income as a Spanish resident?

Schools - 0 replies

AdeleGee Posted by AdeleGee in Off topic on Wed Oct 30, 2019 3:41pm

Hi.

I'm looking into moving over to Menorca. My child is a teenager so I just wondered if anybody has any advise on schools etc?

She is into Drama and Beauty and is a little concerned about leaving her clubs and friends behind.

Are there any schools she could attend and any activities or clubs for teenagers? They don't necessarily have to be in Cala en Porter. Just wondering what is available to her on the island?

Thanks for any help or advice.

Adele
